Forgive me if I am out of line, but I am truely getting frustrated with lack of enthusiasm at getting matches booked this season. Plus My team has not played since March 25, and I also lost a player this week who was no longer available to play trivia, who had been available for many weekends up until this point..but couldn't remain in the game for our last 2 remaining games and until finals due to all the time it's taking. That makes my team even a bit vulnerable heading into finals.. If we ever do get there, and it frustrates me and the rest of my team also I'm sure.

B grade is also struggling to get matches booked and no one has said anything about it, on forum anyway, but isn't it time the coaches that haven't responded be contacted to see if they are still interested in coaching?

Also, the team that I play on has not played in months.. As we are also waiting for finals.

A grade is at a stand still, B grade can't get matches booked, and C grade team(s)are losing players!!

If we want to stay interested and enjoy trivia, we must play trivia!!

Blue, I posted saying the same thing several days ago. Let's play trivia. The B-teams are simply in the minus zone in terms of play. Soon, people may find something else to do. Sun (F)

I just headed in here to start a thread about the games not getting booked and i see that you have already started one!!

Way to go, I totally agree. All our matches are done and we are sitting on pins and needles waiting for the finals. Really sucks that you have lost some players. That is inevitably the outcome if no matches are played. People lose interest in trivia and take up farming.

Any way that I can help?

There has been a Worlds game every weekend for the past 5 or 6 weeks, did you get to those?

Players need to check the match calendar (this isn't necessarily directed at you Linda), there aren't as many coaches spoon-feeding the matches to you all anymore! If you want to play then look out for the matches. :)

If you are referring to the regular season then I really feel that there is little point trying to continue or ever attempting another one. The interest just doesn't seem to be there. Is it time to call it a day?

If I'm wrong then ten people will pop up and correct me, I'm waiting.....

It is a shame that participation is dwindling as much as it has this past year. People don't hardly come to the world matches or the guys and girls matches anymore.. It is true they aren't advertised as much as they used to be through E-mail.. so most don't know about them, but like Nasty said that is what the calendar is for.. I just don't have time to E-mail my team and make sure all the times are correct every weekend.. unfortunately.

As far as the league matches.. I am disappointed and frustrated. I had a great team at the beginning of the season, but because it was taking so long to schedule a match with another team, I lost a player or two. I found replacements for them, and once again had a great team. I thought we were all getting the season underway again. It has now been almost 3 months since my team played a match, Because we are once again having to wait. After 3 months, how can I expect my team to have the motivation and enthusiam to continue playing when circumstances have also caused me to lose motivation and enthusiasm in coaching. This season started in March and it is almost the end of the year and the holidays are coming up. People are busy and obviously don't have time to sit and play trivia during that time of the year.

I can't say for sure that my team will be available or still motivated to play after all of these months. If that is the case I feel that it is only fair to call it quits for the entire C grade this year and give everyone a first place trophy..if need be. I have tried diligently all season or year rather to keep my team interested but when no games to play, how can you? As the other teams, my team worked hard to get where they are this season, but real life does come up after so many months. I don't ask my team to commit for a year, I ask them to commit for a season that I thought would only last a few months.. as I'm sure other coaches do as well.

The season or the grade could forfeit and I would be fine with it now.. Either way, I will not be coaching in the future.. There seems to be little point.

After several unexplained server shutdowns last night the Arena suffered hardware failure and the database was corrupted. I am in the process of restoring the site from an earlier backup of the database but there may be some data loss

Given the age of the server it is likely we will continue to have problems, therefore I am migrating the Arena to a server in the USA and am taking the opportunity to upgrade the site as well. Eventually I will try to resurect a copy of the old site as close as possible as it was which can be accessed under old.triviaarena.com as the new system will not support the Arcade :(

ETA for these changes is about 2 weeks so I will aim to have the last Inter-Continent match played on the new server on Saturday the 26th (Sunday 8am AEST)

We will commence the Battle of the sexes on the weekend of the 4th of December which will run until mid January

I will post more information and links as they become available
