Booking Guidelines
There are two boards, a proposed board and a confirmed board and they can be viewed either seperately or together (default)

If you are proposing a time for your opponent

1. Click on the Match calendar link and then the 'Book Match' link underneath
2. Fill in the teams playing using this format "ABC vs XYZ"
3. Fill in a range of times you are available for the match (time zone should automatically be set to the time zone you have filled in on your profile) you can make more than one entry if you wish as this is just a proposal
4. Fill in the umpire field if you have organised one. Make sure you tick the proposed box, not the confirmed one then hit "new insert" button

If you are accepting a proposed time

1. Fill in the time of the match as above, ensure it corresponds with the proposed time or the booking will be invalid
2. Fill in the umpire field if known Tick the confirmed box, we will check the confirmed bookings to be sure it matches a proposal or there is a confirmed post in the booking thread
3. Hit new insert and it will appear immediately on the calendar

For a match booking to be valid there needs to be a corresponding proposed or confirmed booking from the other coach or a definate agreement on the booking thread from both coaches (ask for another post if it is unclear that the match time is agreed upon)

All booking times are recorded, the 1st team to confirm a booking has ownership over the time slot. The opposing coach must then sight the booking and post an agreement on the forums or corresponding booking on the calendar.

NOTE: only Coaches can add bookings so let me know if you are not set as a coach (rank in forum) You are able to edit your proposals but these edits will need to be approved so if you make a mistake notify me asap, sometimes its faster to make it private and re do the booking.

Coaches please feel free to add to this thread with anything you feel will help other coaches successfully book match times, I am sure any tips you would like to share would be appreciated by new coaches.

Here is a handy link that gives you corresponding times in other zones, very handy for negotiating times when dealing with others from a few time zones

Re: Booking Guidelines
Wow!! Such a long winded way of doing things!!! What was wrong with the old way....make proposals on a thread....til both coaches reach AND POST agreement...one coach go book the match?? Seems that booking matches is set to become almost as challenging as playing one!!

Re: Booking Guidelines
I find the booking system easy once you get used to it.

The only problem i had in the beginning was making sure i was entering the correct time for the match bearing in mind the time i was entering was my own timezone.

Some things i have noticed with bookings....

1. Matches have been booked (confirmed) over times that have been proposed by another team.

2. If you need to edit the booking or make a proposed time confirmed, you need to make sure your timezone is correct on the booking page as it seems to change once you start the editing process.

3. The daylight savings problem! As the times shown in the match calendar reflects the timezone of the person viewing it....it seems if the match is booked allowing for daylight savings time, the viewer still sees it as the non-daylight savings time UNTIL daylight savings comes into effect and i presume they change their time on their profile. This can cause confusion as it happened to one of our games where the other team, (mostly from USA) turned up an hour earlier!
