Feedback on Sexes wanted, starting nov. 5, 2011
The Battle of the Sexes Challenge 2 tournament is scheduled to start November 5th, 2011. There are 21 matches, 3 per week for 7 weeks.

There have been a few concerns raised over the times the previous sexes games have been played so Firehorse has asked me to post this early for your suggestions about times that may be more favourable to people in places other than the USA. You mean there are other places? Haha.

He is busy with World Cup at the moment, but will be freed up in a couple of weeks to resume his duties as match coordinator.

I am proposing one game on Fridays at 4pm EST.
And two games on Saturdays 11am and 3pm EST.

Looking forward to your input. Fire will be the one to make the final decision based on your suggestions.

Cheers,
Redd

ps:

The Inter Continent Challenge 2 (the WORLDS) tournaments are starting on Saturday/Sunday September 24th/25th. There is one match per week for a total of seven weeks. So they go from September 24th to November 5th. I will be adding these to the match calendar shortly.

Hi Figgie

Fridays at 4pm EST on the 4 Nov is London 8pm, Sydney 7am Sat and Auckland 9am Sat which is a good time except for US & Canada as Friday is a work day so many players may not be available for that reason. The Friday time is better on subsequent weekends as the US & Canada move off daylight saving times as it converts to an hour later in the rest of the world.

11am EST Saturday is fine for US, Canada & UK but in the middle of the night for Australia and New Zealand so not so good.

3pm EST Saturday seems to be okay but if you don't live in the eastern part of Australia, you would have to get up very early to play!

Australia & New Zealand seem to be the only countries affected by one of the times although all the times are fine for the northern hemisphere. I know it's hard to get times where everyone is available all over the world but surely we can find another timeslot which would suit the southern hemisphere better and still be okay for the northern hemisphere too.

One thing i'd like to point out is that most of the US & Canada is going onto Daylight Saving Time on Sunday November 6. Everywhere else would have already changed their clocks (NZ - Sept 25, Aust Oct 2, UK Oct 30). Because of this, i consider the base time for these matches be GMT and not EST as you are proposing so only US & Canada are affected by this time change.

cheers
